Creative Commons is an exhibition that showcases six gender-oriented collectives. It highlights the practice of collectivism that engenders mutual aid and social support for the marginalized and underrepresented groups to facilitate the exchange of skills and experiences, and to provide a space for co-learning. These collectives value the participation, engagement and collaborative efforts of its members as a long-term goal. They work on creating a space of safety and intimacy to provide mutual support, self-expression, empowerment, and be oneself. The provision of such a seemingly small and inconspicuous social space might allow the oppressed to gradually build trust and confidence, to gain identification and belonging, to discover greater possibilities and values in oneself, and become able to speak out and fight for their rights.
