Thanks to the tremendous efforts of editors Jennifer Coates (University of Sheffield), Lucy Fraser (University of Queensland), and Mark Pendleton (University of Sheffield), The Routledge Companion to Gender and Japanese Culture is on its way and available for pre-order.

Featuring a cover image by the artist Pyuupiru and forty entries by almost as many scholars working on gender studies and Japanese culture.

My own contribution is on "Demanding Publics: Women and Activism," and writing it was one of the most difficult things I've done. Excited to see the entire bound volume!
